McIntosh C12000 Preamplifier

The McIntosh C12000 Preamplifier is the audio chassis of McIntosh’s two-box C12000 architecture, separating signal handling from power, control, and data functions. That division is intended to keep the low-level audio path isolated and quiet while allowing the preamplifier section to focus on source selection, gain, and signal integrity. Fully balanced construction and separate left- and right-channel layouts support a stable, orderly presentation rather than drawing attention to individual parts of the spectrum.

In a system, the C12000 Preamplifier offers both vacuum-tube and solid-state output paths. That flexibility is useful when shaping the relationship between source, preamplifier, and power amplifier without changing the basic control platform.
